Told you I would be back soon!  I wanted to share today some pictures of painting projects I have been working on since my AMERICAN PAINT COMPANY products arrived.  I have been spending all my spare time (not all that abundant this time of year) testing out this paint, and I have to tell you, I am really impressed.  I am a rookie when it comes to these type of techniques, and this paint is dummy-proof!  Now, there are a lot of techniques I haven't even tried yet, and I am hoping to take a class from my distributor in New Jersey soon.  I hope to even teach some classes eventually, but in the mean time, I have been having fun!!!

Blue jean is my favorite color so far, and I painted this piece with Blue Jean then applied dark wax to the whole piece.  I love working with the wax, especially the dark, as it gives the paint a "depth" that no paint alone can give.

I do need to say, the pieces that I am posting today are of pieces that are for sale in the stores I have space in.  They may, or may not end up at the barn sale.  But, I will have all colors of the paint, plus wax and top coat, at the sale.

This small dresser is Beach Glass, heavily sanded them brushed with top coat.  I like top coat because it is really easy, AND fast...and, you know, I can be impatient sometimes!

I have used Coral Reef quite a bit, as it is selling at the stores...probably to beach house owners, as it is a really happy, bright summery color.

And then, there is the Plymouth Rock...I dry brushed Smoke Signal over it, and turned an old, tired maple piece into the sweetest server!

Sorry, I don't have a picture of the full piece, but it's still for sale at Peddlers Cottage in St. Micheals, so if you are interested.....  : )

I am currently working on a couple of other pieces, and will post pictures when I am finished.  I'll try not to post a ton of stuff that won't be at the Barn Sale, and pretty soon, I will be painting just FOR the sale, but I wanted to get a few pieces in the stores for people to see examples of the paint.  And, the samples keep selling!  Not that I mind that....

Hope you have a great weekend!

Good Morning, All

Hope you had a good weekend, remembering fallen heroes, and keeping in prayer all those who are currently and have in the past made our nation strong and safe.

Sharon and I traveled to Rehoboth this past Sunday for a "pick".  A customer had been in touch with us, wanting to downsize and refresh her look in her home, and that's just the kind of thing we love!  So, we traveled the hour it takes from her house to Rehoboth, just hoping to find a couple of good things to resell.  We just took the truck, partly because we didn't expect to find a ton of stuff, and partly because we have neither one gotten used to pulling the trailers, especially in "unknown territory", on a holiday weekend!

Sharon said on the way down, "you know, we should each at least get one thing, just to be polite, since this lady has taken the time to contact us".  See, we never know exactly what someone might want to sell, and sometimes the prices are just too high for us to buy it to resell (we try to keep a reputation for low prices, you know!) and make a little bit of profit. Well, we were NOT disappointed!  April had a LOAD of awesome stuff she was willing to part with, and her prices were good!  Did we buy everything she wanted to sell?  Certainly not...but we did buy enough that we had to go home and get another truck to fill!  Thanks Nick, for unloading truck #1, while we returned to Rehoboth to fill truck #2!!!

I'm not going to post any pictures of the great finds today because, 1. We were exhausted when we got back (it took us between 4 and 5 hours just to see everything, let alone load the trucks!) so we didn't take any pictures and, 2. I want to save the pics for a time when I can write more about this lovely home and this lovely lady!

Hope you have a great week, and please check back soon.  I will post details of this trip as soon as I get some pics!

Excuses, Excuses

Happy Monday, Followers

I realize it has been a month since I posted anything here.  Sorry!  Hopefully I can do better in the future!  I've had a busy month and just put off posting 'til another day, WAY too many times.  My blog absence coincides directly with asparagus season, and I won't bore you with details of why I'm suddenly feeling TOO OLD for this particular farm job, but I will tell you I am beat!  Was I too busy to eat?  No.  Sleep?  No. Spend time with family, go to church, paint furniture, cut grass, grocery shop, order paint, pay bills?  No. Do regular farm chores plus cut asparagus, trim it and bundle it and deliver it to customers?  No.  But for some reason, posting to the blog just slipped by me.  Again, I will try to do better!

Sharon HAS been attending her regular auction, and we both attended one last Saturday.  We are accumulating a nice pile of Barn Sale Beauties, and we share them regularly on our Facebook page.  If you miss us and want to check out what has been going on, please check it out.  You can stalk us on Facebook even if you don't have a page of your own!

I will leave you after this short post of lame excuses with a picture of a pretty dresser I got at the auction last week.  Also got the nice matching bed...headboard, foot board, and rails.  We are planning the layout as we purchase things, and we have a special place for this set!

'Til later................

See ya!   P
