Good Morning! Sharon and I had our first REAL planning meeting last night for the fall barn sale, and boy, are we excited! We checked out the progress in the barn, talked to the electrician (who was there to wire and put up the new lights and fans), dug through ALL our storage areas, and then went to dinner with notebooks in hand to start hammering out the details.
When we got back to Sharon's house, we worked on postcard design, then we mapped out where we are going to put approximately 47 pieces of furniture, two permanent cupboards, and 2 counters for checkout. We are going to be FULL!!! Upstairs and down!
We decided on the hours, and are planning to host a "Santa's Sneak Peek" on Thursday the 17th of November from 5pm until 9pm. We will be charging a $5. admission fee...this is a first for us...and all proceeds from admission will be donated to the Salisbury Toys For Tots program. In 2010, the local Toys for Tots program distributed over 11,000 toys to 5,000 children on the lower eastern shore. Since Christmas is right around the corner, we thought this was a good idea, and it will give eager shoppers a head start at the sale, and you will be the first to view the new old barn in all it's Christmas splendor.
We will be open from 9am until 9pm on Friday the 18th, and from 9am until 5pm on Saturday. There will be no admission charge on those days.
I will be posting often in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back. We are only 6 weeks out, with alot of work to do, but it is so exciting and fun, we are already thinking about the sale ALL THE TIME, and we call or text each other several times a day to bounce ideas off each other. Can you tell we really LOVE this "job"?!?
