I realize it has been a month since I posted anything here.  Sorry!  Hopefully I can do better in the future!  I've had a busy month and just put off posting 'til another day, WAY too many times.  My blog absence coincides directly with asparagus season, and I won't bore you with details of why I'm suddenly feeling TOO OLD for this particular farm job, but I will tell you I am beat!  Was I too busy to eat?  No.  Sleep?  No. Spend time with family, go to church, paint furniture, cut grass, grocery shop, order paint, pay bills?  No. Do regular farm chores plus cut asparagus, trim it and bundle it and deliver it to customers?  No.  But for some reason, posting to the blog just slipped by me.  Again, I will try to do better!

Sharon HAS been attending her regular auction, and we both attended one last Saturday.  We are accumulating a nice pile of Barn Sale Beauties, and we share them regularly on our Facebook page.  If you miss us and want to check out what has been going on, please check it out.  You can stalk us on Facebook even if you don't have a page of your own!

I will leave you after this short post of lame excuses with a picture of a pretty dresser I got at the auction last week.  Also got the nice matching bed...headboard, foot board, and rails.  We are planning the layout as we purchase things, and we have a special place for this set!

THANK YOU ...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...we chicks are so grateful to all of our barn sale customers/friends who took the time to come by the spring barn sale this weekend. We had a fabulous time...thanks for the donations for the American Cancer Society and for braving the weather Friday (as crazy as it was!!!). Saturday was just perfect...the weather was amazing and we had another great turnout. We ...were happy to get to visit with our 'old' customers (we miss you when you can't come over) and were thrilled to meet so many 'new' customers!

 

Hope you will put September 12, 13, and 14 on your calendar for the fall sale.  After a brief rest (and my busy asparagus season!), we will be shopping and shopping and shopping and then cleaning, painting, repairing, refinishing our merchandise for the fall sale.  I will try to keep you posted with stories of our travels and pictures of our purchases.  We do already have plans to visit (and pick!) a customer in Rehobeth, another in Pennsylvania (about 3 1/2 hours away, but a LOT of stuff!) and a couple of local ones, along with our weekly auction sales.  We are really excited to have so many new customers, and plan to keep you coming back with awesome merchandise and great prices!  Have a great week!

OH MY!!!!!!!!!! Can you say 'pooped chicks'?!?!?! We worked over 10 hours in the barn yesterday! ONLY 3 more days until the spring sale...hope you have made plans to stop by!  We are open Thursday, April 11 (5-9 pm is the Sneak Peek and Purchase Evening...$5 admission with proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society) and then Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 (9am-5pm with FREE admission). Pops of Color?

Well, actually, no.  I'd be more likely to call it a color EXPLOSION!  We've all read in the decorating magazines about "pops of color".  And if that's what you want, you will probably buy one or two pieces from us. But really, what we have in the barn, is more of a color explosion! And, I, for one, think it looks great!!!

Happy Monday, Y'all!
I am here to apologize for the lack of pictures last week, and to make up for that, I'm gonna go on picture overload this week!  Sharon and I worked all day in the barn today, just took one nice break at lunchtime to heat up some yummy leftovers from Sharon's Easter dinner!  We got a LOT done upstairs, and plan to put in another full day tomorrow, and make a real dent in the downstairs.  It's really coming along splendidly, and I wanted to show you a few snippets of what's in store NEXT WEEK, beginning Thursday evening from 5 til 9...
